McKendree University- Graduate Assistant: Women's Ice Hockey

McKendree University is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to serve as a graduate assistant for the McKendree Bearcat Women's Ice Hockey Team in Lebanon, Illinois.

Women's Ice Hockey competes at the newly constructed McKendree Metro Rec Plex which houses an aquatics center and two sheets of ice for hockey. The graduate assistant will assist the head coach with planning and implementing practices, team travel, recruiting, fundraising, monitoring student-athlete progress, and other duties as assigned.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and acceptance into a Master's program at McKendree University is required. Seeking candidates with prior college playing experience at the NCAA or ACHA level. Although not required as a condition of the position, those with previous coaching experience will be given preference.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – AMERICAN COLLEGIATE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Board of Directors invites applications for the full-time position of Executive Director of the ACHA, the governing body for non-varsity collegiate hockey in the United States. The Executive Director will serve as the organizational officer of the ACHA. The ACHA is comprised of over 500 institutions in five (5) divisions (Men's Division 1, Men's Division 2, Men's Division 3, Women's Division 1, and Women's Division 2) in the United States and Canada.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the governance and oversight of the operations of the ACHA, including but not limited to: managing the ACHA governance structure, personnel management, media and community relations, and communication with the Board of Directors. This position will report to the ACHA Board of Directors and have direct supervision of the ACHA Director of Hockey Operations, ACHA Director of Development/Business Operations and ACHA Public Relations/Communications Director.

The Executive Director is expected to create a vision for growing the economic resources of the ACHA, improving the recruiting efforts of college hockey and its member institutions and growing the relationships with USA Hockey and major sponsors. This position requires the ability to travel and work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.

Salary and benefits package will be commensurate with experience. Potential opportunities for bonus exist as well.

Successful applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree, although a post-graduate degree is preferred; strong interpersonal, organizational , written and oral communication skills; knowledge of and prior experience with the ACHA, as well as amateur hockey in the United States (particularly college hockey); significant leadership in intercollegiate athletics and/or business environments; and a proven ability to generate fundraising opportunities.

New Jersey Junior Titans – Atlantic Youth Hockey League - Head Coach 18u "AAA" Team

Summary:

This position will report directly to the hockey director. The Head Coach will be responsible for selecting players for this team as well as organizing and implementing off season and in season training programs. The Head Coach will need to work with their assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach to coordinate all team activities including practices, games, team meetings, video sessions as well as other team events. In addition to fielding a highly competitive, nationally ranked team, the coach will also be involved in helping players develop on the ice and promoting them to the highest of levels including junior and college hockey.

Salary to be negotiated upon review of resume and references. Tryouts for this team are in early April.

Qualifications:

The Connecticut Polar Bears, the first all-girls ice hockey program in Connecticut, have competed internationally since 1985. The Polar Bears have won 10 National Championships. Nine Polar Bears players have competed in the Olympic Games, and many have played on the U.S. National Team. Four Polar Bears have gone on to win the Patty Kazmaier Award, given to the top female college ice hockey player. This incumbent will provide support to the head coach in maintaining a highly competitive and successful Division I women's hockey program in a manner compatible with the department and University philosophy, and in compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

The Washington Little Capitals Tier-I Hockey Club seeks a dynamic, motivated leader to head our program as the Hockey Director and Head Coach of the 18U team for the 2018-19 season. The Little Caps field seven Tier-1 youth hockey teams in the prestigious North American Prospects Hockey League ("NAPHL") and the Atlantic Youth Hockey League ("AYHL"). Our teams also compete in major tournaments around North America, including the 2018 Pee Wee International Tournament in Quebec. The successful candidate will be the face of the Little Caps program, responsible for identifying, recruiting, and developing the top talent in the Washington DC area, and helping those players advance to the top junior leagues in the country, college, and beyond.

The Hockey Director oversees all hockey operations for the Club, and reports directly to the Club's Board of Directors. The Hockey Director is responsible for directing all WLC player scouting and development activities, establishing, improving, and maintaining relationships with area clubs, adhering to USA Hockey's ADM concepts, recruiting, securing and supervising all WLC coaches, supervising the WLC Player Development and Coach Education Programs, enforcing WLC rules and policies, organizing and staffing WLC tryouts, coordinating off-ice training, coordinating the Club's goalie coaches, staffing, organizing and running Club skills sessions, preparing practice schedules, supervising the scheduling process for all WLC teams, outfitting and equipping all WLC teams and coaches, serving as the primary point of contact for USA Hockey, PVAHA, AYHL, and other WLC leagues, maintaining WLC rink presence for WLC practices and games, serving as parent liaison for club and team communications, working with the Club's Executive Director as directed, and other matters consistent with running a top-flight Tier-I youth hockey program.

Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Internship Program - Equipment Manager / Operations Manager

Dates: Summer – August 2017– April 2018

As part of the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Junior Program; our interns will be granted the opportunity to work alongside a professionally run hockey club that competes in the Eastern Hockey League in the development of young men ages 16-20 in order to give them a chance to play college hockey at the highest level possible to them. Specifically our internship will provide the opportunity to work our day-to-day operations, game day operations, marketing the club to the community, and working directly with the teams' coaches and players to ensure our club is run according to our standards. All interns are expected to be proficient in Microsoft Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.). In addition to working day-to-day with our coaching staff and management, they will be working directly with our players in making sure equipment, dressing room, and our offices are maintained and a proper working environment. The internship will span the duration of our season beginning shortly before training camp in August and ending at the conclusion of our season; ranging between mid-March to April 1. Throughout the course of the season intern(s) will have the chance to learn the business aspect of Junior hockey, learn valuable management skills, time management, daily operations management with many moving parts, and finally the opportunity to be involved in the production aspect of a hockey game.

Interns will be educated in the following:

- Game day operations include organizing and maintain Referee Locker Rooms, Visiting team Locker Rooms, our Dressing Room and Coaches Room.
- Day-to-day operations management; Including video crew management, our dressing room, and trainers.
- Marketing our club through the community
- Office management
- Equipment managing – keeping inventory, managing inventory, distribution and collection of all equipment

Internship Duties & Responsibilities:

- Daily: Work directly with coaching staff to ensure practices run according to plan. Be responsible for player personal on practice and off days. Daily operations will range from, but not limited to:
      o Practice jersey, water bottles, pucks, etc be prepared for practice – collected and washed (Jerseys), dressing room preparation.
      o Handle all equipment malfunctions, skates, sticks, helmets, skate sharpening (can be trained) etc.
      o Be responsible for all general housekeeping duties within the following area(s): Dressing Room, Coaches Room, bathrooms, showers, hallway, and both home and visiting team benches.
      o Work directly with visiting team trainer, manager, and equipment personnel about arrivals, necessities, etc before weekend series or showcases.
      o Work directly with equipment managers around the league to ensure road trips go smooth and our players' needs are met when traveling.

      o Encouraged to attend and be involved in all road trips

Cheyenne Stampede Internship Program

Summer 2017 (June 1-August 14) and 2017-2018 Season (August 17-March 31)

As a part of the Cheyenne Stampede organization, interns will be exposed to the inner workings of a professionally run hockey program. Specifically, interns will receive the opportunity to become involved with game night operations, marketing research and special projects. All interns will be required to handle computer applications with emphasis on Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.). In addition to working games, the intern will have the opportunity to work in the office environment with a minimum of eight hours per week. The semester will offer a chance to learn the daily regimen of a sports franchise, meet important contacts, and the chance to be involved in many aspects of the operation. Interns will be educated in the following:

Game day operations
In-Game Sponsor Promotions
Marketing
Office management

Special events coordination

Compensation

Duties

1. Game Night- the game of hockey is an event and much occurs behind the scenes to insure our guests have an enjoyable evening regardless of the outcome. Intern responsibilities on game night will include (but not limited to) the following:

Helping with in-arena promotions (i.e.: ticket sales, promotions, and intermission activities) at all Stampede home games.
Assist with Customer Service and ticketing
Performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager

2. Research- you will be asked to assist in the research of general market information, hockey specific information and corporate partnership information as well as tracking of various media announcements.

Create literature, ticket sales promotions, and other special interest projects as needed
Collect and organize game notes, game stats, team rosters and media guides to distribute on game nights
Help in compiling team statistics on team and league attendance figures and player performance
Find, schedule, and attend community relations events

3. Special Projects- depending upon your development and time commitments, you could be asked to create special projects to assist the Stampede staff. This could include grassroots marketing programs, advertising community projects, etc.

- General awareness of operational needs, student and adult behavior, and other risk management issues;

- Provide input as to the evaluation of the athlete's performance and progress. Evaluate opponents' performance and scouting. Ensure the peak performance of athletes during games
- Participate in the recruitment of prospective student athletes
- Participate in planning for events including fund raising or other special functions

- Additional duties can be assigned with discussion between the Head Coach, Director of Athletics and the Assistant Coach
- Attendance is required at the annual athletic awards banquet, any NE-10 conference meetings, any and all all-star balloting or voting meetings, and all SNHU Athletic Department meetings

The position, governed by the rules and regulations of the NCAA and of the Southern New Hampshire University, requires working with the Head Coach in all facets of the program. You must develop a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If you plan to recruit, you must successfully pass the NCAA Certification exam.

Per NCAA rule, a coach who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.

The Assistant Coach may be responsible for driving the team van to and from contests as well as pre-season practice or tournaments so a Valid Driver's License is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree
- Collegiate college coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge, observance, and commitment to all rules and regulations of the College, NE-IO, ECAC, and NCAA

Director of Operations for the Women's Ice Hockey program under the general supervision of the Head Coach. This is a non-coaching position which will coordinate the operational aspects of the Women's Ice Hockey program by assisting with video operations; oversee the budget; coordinating scheduling; managing apparel and equipment; camp coordinating; scheduling non-conference and tournament games, act as a liaison to conference and other departments within Holy Cross Athletics. Major Areas of Responsibility

- Manages equipment budget. Manage and oversee all aspects of women's hockey team equipment budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Responsible for working with Equipment Manager in developing budget proposal for annual budget process. Produces equipment bids/proposals for submission to the Athletic Business office
- Produces all travel itineraries for away games.
- Scheduling and confirming travel practice requests
- Responsible for travel budget and ensuring travel expenses remain in budget.

Gilmour Academy, located on a historic 144-acre campus in Gates Mills, Ohio (15 miles east of downtown Cleveland) is an independent, Catholic, coed, school in the Holy Cross tradition. With 650 students, ages 18 months through grade 12, a post graduate option and a high school residential program that allows us to attract students from 15 states and 5 nations, we are home to the only prep level girl's high school hockey program in the state of Ohio. Out team participates as both an independent prep school hockey program as well an independent 19-U Tier 1 AAA program through the Mid-American district of USA Hockey. This team is eligible for a bid to the USA Hockey National Tournament. Our 75,000 sq. foot ice arena houses two NHL-sized hockey rinks with seating for 450 in each. The arena has 12 locker rooms, a training room, weight room, Rapid Shot and a café.

Athletics play a vital role in the school. Our girl's prep hockey team has been in existence 16 years and has placed numerous players in Division 1 and Division 3 NCAA programs over the course of its existence. The program has a strong feeder program through the Gilmour Youth Hockey Association.
