Men's CCM/AHCA Hockey Division I All-Americans Announced
Fifteen different Division I hockey-playing schools can celebrate players honored asCCM/AHCA Hockey All-Americansfor the 2021-22 season. The nation's top 24 college hockey players were announced tonight during "Friday Night at the Frozen Four" in Boston. Seven of the honorees came from this year's Frozen Four semifinalists: Michigan (3), Minnesota State (2), Denver (1) and Minnesota (1). Leading the way with three honorees each were Michigan and Northeastern.
Noteworthy this year:
- Five players had been recognized as All-Americans previously, Minnesota State goalie Dryden McKay, who was a Second Team selection last year and a First Team selection in 2020.
- There are 18 players from nine different U.S. states and six Canadian players from two provinces. The largest source is Massachusetts with five.
- By class: two freshmen six sophomores, seven juniors, eight seniors and one graduate student.
- The conference breakdown: seven from Hockey East, five from the NCHC, four from both the Big Ten and ECAC Hockey, three from the CCHA and one from Atlantic Hockey.
