HANOVER, NH - On a warm July afternoon, far from the rigors of New England hockey weather, the AHCA belatedly bestowed awards to a pair of special honorees. Dick Dodds, the Hanover (NH) High School boys hockey coach, and Bill Driscoll, founder of the North American Hockey Academy, were presented the 2021 John Mariucci Award and the 2022 Women’s Ice Hockey Founders Award, respectively, by AHCA Executive Director Joe Bertagna.

Unable to travel to Naples, FL, where the awards were to be presented, Dodds and Driscoll met on Tuesday with Bertagna, former Dartmouth College men’s head coach Bob Gaudet and current Unioversity of Vermont head coach Jim Plumer. Gaudet and Plumer took part in the nomination process that presented Dodds and Driscoll to the AHCA Awards Committee.
