
UPDATED: Ninth Annual AHCA 'All-American Scholars' Announced for D I Hockey
713 D I Men and Women Recognized by the AHCA for 2024-25 Excellence
The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) is once again recognizing varsity ice hockey players who compiled exceptional results in the classroom during the 2024-25 season with the announcement of the eighth annual “Krampade All-American Scholars.” To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team’s games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.
The names of 713 Division I men (362) and women (351) are being released today, their Division II-III counterparts being announced separately. Of particular note are the seven athletes who not only earned this academic status, but were also voted as CCM/AHCA All-Americans for their on-ice play. They are:
Men
1st Team: Trey Augustine, SO G, Michigan State University; Jack Devine, SR F, University of Denver
2nd Team: Matt Basgall, JR D, Michigan State University; Trey Taylor, JR D, Clarkson University
Women
1st Team: Eve Gascon, SO G, University of Minnesota Duluth; Casey O’Brien, GR F, University of Wisconsin
2nd Team: Nicole Gosling, GR D, Clarkson University*
